Focused assessment

Choose mobile text, duration, keyboard context, and autocorrect policy.

Use your normal keyboard. The tool preserves composition, observes replacement-like changes where the browser reports them, and never fingerprints your device.

What this tool measures

A typing test built for mobile keyboard conditions

Thumb rhythm, short-message control, punctuation, numbers, capitalization, and mobile-specific input observations.

Virtual-keyboard aware

Short targets, visible input focus, visual-viewport handling, and no fixed controls over the keyboard.

Honest replacement notes

Reported replacements are observations, not proof of autocorrect, prediction, or swipe typing.

Device-context result

Phone, tablet, unknown mobile, and physical-keyboard override contexts stay explicitly distinct.

A typing test built for mobile keyboard conditions

Mobile input does not map cleanly to physical keystrokes. Predictive text, swipe typing, composition, smart punctuation, and keyboard overlays can transform several characters at once, so this test evaluates committed text and labels observations cautiously.

Results belong to the selected device and keyboard context. They include net and raw WPM, accuracy, corrections, remaining errors, punctuation, numbers, composition boundaries, interruptions, and replacement-like changes without inventing a universal mobile benchmark.

Limitations and related typing tools

  • Browser APIs cannot identify an exact keyboard app or every autocorrect and prediction decision.
  • Mobile scores should be compared only with similar device and keyboard conditions.
  • No mobile certificate is issued; validated keyboard conditions would require a separate future policy.

Use the mobile typing test or mobile typing practice, return to the Career Typing hub, or compare the purpose of the general typing test, personalized practice, number typing test, custom typing test, typing games, and certificate foundation.

Mobile Typing Test questions

Is this a phone typing speed test?

Yes. It is designed around phone and tablet keyboard constraints, short passages, mobile focus behavior, and device-context results.

Must I disable autocorrect?

No. Choose the policy that describes your attempt. A browser cannot reliably enforce or identify every keyboard correction.

Can I compare mobile WPM with desktop WPM?

Direct comparison can be misleading because virtual keyboards, prediction, swipe input, screen size, and physical keyboards create different conditions.
